il Mulino

Interiors are always a challenge. Especially without people. Il Mulino at the Taj is one of the finest Italian restaurants in Atlantic City.

Engagement Session

On Saturday I shot this great couple on the beach and boards in Ocean City. One of the most rewarding things about photographing weddings is meeting wonderful people when they're at their happiest. The engagement session is usually causal and the couple can just be themselves without any pressure.

Geo

Surf icon George Gerlach passed away on January 20th.
In 1962, he founded Surfers Supplies, one of the first surf shops in New Jersey. George was responsible for introducing many people to surfing and keeping them stoked with his love of the sport and his uncompromising enthusiasm. He was also a member of the East Coast Surfing Hall of Fame.
George was the very first person that I interviewed for my book, Surfing Jerseyland, and, man-o-man did he have some stories. We're going to miss him.

Wilted flowers

Back in snowy Jerseyland. The textures and colors of the wilted geraniums combined with the snowflakes evokes a true sense of a grey winter day in Jersey.

Nosara Rush Hour

With all the snow and cold weather we've gotten lately, I can't help thinking about Nosara, Costa Rica. This is their version of morning rush hour. The kid riding his bike to work balanced on his rear wheel down the whole beach which was about a mile long.
Eighty degree water with eighty degree air temps.

Snow Suite

I once again underestimated how much snow we were really going to get and left my wet suite hanging outside to use the next morning. Boy, was I wrong!

The Contessa

Modern digital cameras can do things that were unimaginable just a few short years ago. But they can't convert an idea into a great photograph. Visual story telling is what I do.
