surfing AC
Surfing Atlantic City is about as surreal as it gets. Parking and walking through the casino with wetsuit and board all the while hoping your car doesn't get pillaged by locals. Feral cats and homeless people living under the boardwalk add another element of adventure. Dawn patrol is always the best attracting bombastic stares from people heading home after a long night of partying.

In the BIG house
This is part of a project I just completed for Big Brothers, Big Sisters. It's part of a national campaign targeting the mentoring of kids of incarcerated parents. The photo was taken inside a women's prison in Nashville, TN. There was such a bad vibe coming out of that place that I couldn't check out fast enough.

This is a portrait of Suzanne and Jason about a week before their first baby. It was taken about 5:45 AM on a great morning with fog banks hugging the beach. It's really cool when clients ask what they can do to make the picture special and when you make suggestions like getting up a hour before sunrise, without blinking they say "okay!"

After 4 days of surf in 6 days with the sun out and the water temp quickly approaching a solid 40, I was mentally transported back to the great morning sessions of last summer. Bring it on!
This is called "going off and socked in". Joel Monesson, owner of the Mattison Gallery in Asbury Park gave me a great compliment when first seeing it. He said " I can smell the wet sand and salt air".
I consider that a SCORE!
Thanks Joel.

I want to thank everyone who came by and purchased a piece or just enjoyed the show. It was a lot of fun and I got a ton of positive feedback. I hope to finish the book by 2012.
I also want to thank the JCC for hosting the exhibit.
FYI, Jamie and I will be there again in July along with fellow surf artist John Baker
